Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – Metalline is pleased to
announce the results of tonnage and grade calculations on the drill and channel
samples from the oxide zinc mantos in the San Salvador, Encantada and
Fronteriza mines.
The analyses of 641 samples from 9 drill holes and
761channel samples were entered into Gemcom Software International’s mining
software program. North-South vertical
sections were constructed at 10-meter intervals throughout the 1500 meter
length of the above mines and the sampling.
The program projects the samples that are within 5 meters of either side
of each section onto the section. For
each section the limits of the zinc mineralization are defined by drawing a
line around the mineralized area, staying within 5 meters of the outside
perimeter of the samples. That is,
giving no more than 5 meters influence of the sample for the outside perimeter
of mineralization. The mineralized area
from each section is then tied together with succeeding mineralized sections to
form a volume of mineralization. A
weighted average grade is then calculated on a length-weighted basis of all
of the samples within the volume. This
calculation gives equal weighting of each sample, giving influence to
low-grade, some below a cut-off grade, and high-grade samples within the
volume. This method gives a conservative
analysis of the grade and does not extrapolate the data beyond the sampled
volume. The result is a total of 2.1 million tonnes that average 13.86%
zinc. The contained zinc metal
is 291,646 tonnes, 15% of the required 2 million tonne threshold for a Solvent
Extraction Electrowinning plant and mine.
